TheWay.ie
‘the Way’ is a digital multimedia platform set up by the Irish Bishops’ Conference dedicated to sharing the Good News and the witness of the Catholic Church in Ireland. It is intended to help people discover the faith, live the faith and pass on the faith. It is for both seekers and followers.
In the very early Church, the first believers were known as followers of ‘the Way’ (e.g. Acts 9:2). In answer to the question ‘how can we know the way?’ (John 14:5) Jesus declared that ‘I am the Way, the Truth and Life.’
This platform is intended to help people to know the Way – to discover the faith, live the faith and pass on the faith. It is for both seekers and followers. Together, we are led by Christ to be pilgrims of hope. Click HERE for video

Logo

The logo for ‘the Way’ features an ancient symbol for Christianity, namely the fish. In Greek, fish is spelt ICHTHYS and those letters also serve as shorthand in Greek for Jesus Christ (ICH) Son of God (THY) Saviour (S).
The fish symbol was simple to draw and carried a deep connection with the scriptures (e.g. Luke 5:4-10). It gave Christians a trusted way to identify themselves to one another, especially in times of persecution. It gave hope and strengthened the bonds between believers.
The logo represents that Jesus Christ, Son of God and Saviour, is the Way.
The logo also incorporates the Cross, the essential marker of the Christian faith, and the light of the Easter Dawn radiating hope for all seekers and followers of the Way.
This is the mission for this platform.
