NOTE: James Butler wishes to express his thanks for the farewell he received last Sunday, marking his retirement as our Sacristan. Our thanks to all who helped to organise this event.
On last Sunday 2nd April 2023, a presentation was made after the 11:30am Mass to mark James Butler’s retirement after 29 years of loyal and dedicated service to our Faith community and to our Parich Church. Present on the occasion were James’ family, His brothrs Tom and John, their wives Josephine and Christina and also his sister Mary Tinnelly. Present also were Mgr Dan Neenan, Canon Gerard Garrett, Fr Michael O’Shea, Mr Anton O’Carroll, chairperson, of the pastoral council and a large body of out Faith Community . Apologies were received from Fr Sean Harmon who had to atend at University Hospital Limerick, where he now ministers as chaplin.
Fr Seamus Madigan presented James with a beautiful sculpture of Jesus washing the feet of Peter while Anton O’Carroll presented James with a presntation from our Parish.
Fr Madigan concluded by thanking James for his good spirit and service over the 29 years and wishing James ‘ad multos annos’.
